WHAT IS TRANSITION COACHING?
As defined by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), Coaching is a way of partnering with clients in a manner which motivates them to maximize their personal and professional potential, through a process which is supposed to be creative and thought provoking. So Transition Coach facilitates to move from A to B during the time of transition (a.k.a relocation) . A is not an unhappy place; it is simply where you are today. Transition Coach helps to move from where you are today (A) to where you inspire to be tomorrow (B). So it is not only for people with problems or life crises. It is for anyone who is ready to make a commitment to establish and accomplish the goals while in transition.
HOW IS LIFE COACHING DIFFERENT FROM THERAPY?
While therapy helps you to understand behavior by delving into your past, Life Coaching does not. Coaching is focused on now and where you aspire to go and how can we make sure we get there.
WHY WOULD ANYBODY NEED A TRANSITION COACH?
Everybody could use a Coach especially when you make a big transition such as relocation, where you are thrown out of your comfort zone. Mai had one when she moved for my husband’s job, in order to determine her goal of launching her business and accomplishing it. Mai's Coach was there to make her work harder, hold her accountable for the progress she made and motivate her when she was in doubt. According to an internal report of the Personnel Management Association, "when coaching is combined with training, individuals increase their productivity by an average of 86% compared to 22% with training alone.” Every sports player has a coach, because they need the support to be the best possible. Wouldn’t you want the same?
WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE SESSIONS?
During the sessions, I will ask you questions that you’d never ask yourself and it will initiate a discovery about yourself. You will speak in a free space without any fear of judgment, which means you can truly open up without filtering anything. We will use the first session to solidify what you want to achieve through Coaching, so that you and I both know what we are working towards. And we will use the following sessions to move along in the project, removing any obstacles in the way, and putting action plans together.

WHAT IF I DON’T KNOW MY GOAL OR
THE ISSUE THAT I WANT TO RESOLVE?
That’s completely fine! Even if you think you know your issue, it’s often not the real thing that’s bothering you. Through our conversations, we will be able to highlight what is bothering you the most. So, don’t worry if you can’t pinpoint the issue yourself!
WHAT IF I CAN’T OPEN UP?
Don’t worry about that. It’s Mai's job to open you up and it will be done in the speed that you’d feel comfortable. If you ever feel uncomfortable you need to let Mai know so she can take it easy. And also Mai follows a 100% confidentiality policy. Nobody will know that you have even spoken to a Life Coach unless you give the permission for Mai to share it with others.
IS IT WORTH MY TIME?
Well, that’s totally depends on YOU! All we know is that it’s million times better than not doing anything about it. Mai will give clarity to your challenges and put together with you action plans to overcome them.
HOW DO I KNOW IF MAI IS THE RIGHT COACH ?
Mai has been in your position once so she understand what you are going through first-hand. Mai has lived and been challenged by the challenges you are facing now. So, she is eager to help those who are experiencing the same challenges move forward. She will help you create the life you want by setting intentional goals. IS IT WORTH MY MONEY?
It depends on your commitment. If you are really committed, you will find the discipline and focus that you never had before to achieve something that you always wanted to. And that goal could be priceless for you.
WHERE DOES THE SESSION TAKE PLACE?
Usually on Zoom (online video platform). I am in Geneva, so if you're in the region, Mai would be happy to meet you.
ARE ONLINE OR PHONE SESSIONS EFFECTIVE?
Mai has clients from all around the world with whom do the sessions online or phone. Mai's existing clients confirm that it does not diminish the effectiveness of coaching at all! The added benefit is that you can take the call in your comfort at home!
HOW MANY SESSIONS DO I NEED?
While this is up to you, most clients follow Mai's recommendation to book the 3-months or 6 months package. This allows time to analyse your situation, your challenges, your integration into your new society, and plan and achieve specific goals. If you have one topic that you want to untangle, you could sign-up for the 1-month package.
HOW LONG IS EACH SESSION ?
It's around 60 minutes.
WHAT IF I DON’T LIKE IT?
This is why Mai provides a DISCOVERY session where you’d get a real sense of what Coaching with Mai is like. If you don’t feel you gel, there is no compulsion for you to continue. If you do like it, then you sign up for the packages. If you feel that you have achieved your goals before using all the sessions, then you can either hold on to the sessions to use at a later date (within a one-year period) or you can donate the balance of your sessions to somebody else.
WHAT IS YOUR AVAILABILITY?
Mai works from 9am to 7pm (GMT+2), and sessions can be scheduled based on yours and Mai's schedules. Mai only take up to 6 clients per month, there may need to wait for your first DISCOVERY session.
